Sponsoring a Cultivate Trainee

Thank you for your interest in sponsoring one of our trainees! Cultivate works with local leaders from across the globe: people with a vision and a passion for making their communities stronger, healthier and more resilient. We know local leaders are the best people to take on community development efforts, and we exist in order to support their efforts and assist them to find sustainability and even viability.
We support people from all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. People who want to do something charitable for their own community and we help support them as they reach that vision.
Please consider providing a full or partial scholarship. We need to raise $650 for each applicant to be able to join our program for a year.
Our program offers our trainees the skills, coaching and support for their life-long success as a community leader.

Check out these frequently asked questions.
Is Cultivate a registered nonprofit organization in the USA?
Yes. Cultivate is registered with the IRS (EIN 81-2626013).
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Unfortunately, no. Because of IRS regulations, contributions which specifically benefit an individual cannot be tax-deductible, such as a contribution towards someone's application fee. Your contribution is still so needed though! Without your help, this trainee may not be able to participate in our program. Though we offer scholarships, they are based on financial need and the availability of funds, so it is not guaranteed that all applicants can receive a scholarship.
What if I really want my contribution to be tax-deductible?
You can make a donation towards our scholarship fund! Though we cannot guarantee your friend or family member applying for our program will be awarded a scholarship, your donation will be used to award scholarships to applicants with the most need. Because of this, per IRS regulations, your donation will be tax-deductible. To make a tax-deductible donation towards our scholarship fund, please give here.
What happens if a trainee drops out of the program?
If a trainee drops out of our program at any time, your contribution towards their application fee is not refundable. Funds will instead be used to award scholarships to other applicants.
What happens if a trainee applicant receives more than the full application fee in sponsorships?
If they receive contributions that exceed the full application fee, those funds will be used to provide scholarships to other trainees. Because of IRS regulations, we cannot give trainees those funds and we cannot return those funds to the contributor.
